CARERS ALLOWANCE
£76.75 a week if you care for someone at least 35 hours a week and they get certain benefits.
You do not have to be related to, or live with, the person you care for.You do not get paid extra if you care for more than one person.If someone else also cares for the same person as you, only one of you can claim Carer’s Allowance.Earnings are £139 or less per week
UNIVERSAL CREDIT
Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs. It’s paid monthly – or twice a month for some people in Scotland.
You may be able to get it if you’re on a low income, out of work or you cannot work.
COUNCIL TAX SUPPORT
If someone living at your address is permanently disabled, you might be able to get a discount on your council tax.
One of the following must apply for a discount to be granted:
- the disabled person uses a wheelchair indoors
- the property has a second bathroom or kitchen for the use of the person with the disability
- a room in the property is used for a special purpose, for example, dialysis
FAMILY FUND
You apply for a grant families once every 2 years. They will pay for household goods, laptops, holidays (+ lots of other things that would help your family)
CARER’S LEEDS
You can apply for a break for carer’s grant, to pay for days out or holidays for carer’s or carer’s + family.
CAULDWELL CHILDREN
You can apply for sensory packs at large discounts.
MAX CARD
Apply through carer’s Leeds, £3 charge for a card that offers huge discounts on day’s out and free carer’s tickets.
CEA CARD
This card entitles a disabled cinema guest to receive a complimentary ticket for someone to go with them.
Applicant must be 5 or over and in receipt of DLA or PIP.
£6 charge.
DISCOUNTS FOR CARERS
Website that gives carers codes for discounts at many shops, on days out and holidays.
Most places will offer a discounted ticket for guests with disabilities and or their carer. Before you go it is worth checking if there offer and max card and see which is the best option.
These discounts may not always be advertised, so always ask and see what they can offer.
